Anglia Car Auctions

We think ACA nailed it in terms of how to do an online auction properly. In the run up to the auction they not only provided a video of each car when static showing any condition issues but they also did a video of each car driving which made a big difference and helped to build confidence. However, the icing on the cake was the professional video of the auction on the day with the cameras moving around each cars as it move past the rostrum and was sold. The quality was excellent and whilst there is no substitute for being present this was undoubtedly the next best thing. Well done ACA!

Now with all that prep and coverage the sale generated a huge amount of interest and some big prices. To name but a few, a 1986 Opel Manta with nearly 56,000 miles on the clock hit a big £15,660 compared to the estimate of £6,500 to £8,500, a new record we suspect for one of these. A Morris 8 Series 1 made £9,180 compared to its estimate of £3,000 to £4,000. This was a lovely original car and this price goes to show there is still plenty of appetite out there for pre war cars.A 1967 MGB Roadster with a rubber bumper bodyshell made a surprising £14,310 against the estimate of £9,000 to £12,000. There were a couple of very low mile MGB GT cars, one a rubber bumper with just 5,794 miles from new which made £15,900 against the estimate of £9,000 to £12,000. A chrome bumper car with 13,115 miles from new made £15,228 against the estimate of £10,000 to £12,000. A very nice Morris Minor Traveller which had been the subject of a full rebuild made £13,515 and is now on the forecourt of a dealer asking £16,500. The car is genuinely very nice although both front wings are a slightly different colour to the rest of the car! We think the bargain of the sale is likely to be the MG PA which sold for £22,680. The car is in need of cosmetic attention and we do not know the provenance or if it is matching numbers, but these cars are normally north of £40k on a dealers forecourt so plenty of room to invest in this one.
